I am now stuck in a limbo because cooling drinks to soothe the cough ain’t cutting it for my runny nose.

Anyway, have decided not to drag it out and see the school health service (because there are no clinics in Brisbane, only hospitals) only to be told there is a $15 penalty if I am late for my appointment. Bully sick patient only. :( :( :(

Today, I submitted my first every university assignment. 2500 words, 2 nights without sleep and 3 pages of Harvard referencing and its finito~

Hanhui and I celebrated with huge-ass milkshakes at one of the school’s many outdoor cafes. :)

Started taking pictures around the campus because it has finally dawned on me that I am graduating this semester!!! Considering tomorrow is the start of the mid-semester break, I technically only have half a semester to working life. *groans*

Came home and saw the love letter Cheeleng has left me, it suddenly dawned on me that she will be in Perth for the next 2 weeks!!! My other housemate’s suitor flew in from Singapore and she was out too… :( fantastic start to my holidays hur?

Had dinner and movie with KS at South Bank.

And for the first time, I paid for my own make-up! Usually daddy picks it up from airport duty free or mummy pays the tab on one of our many shopping trips. Powder ran out this morning so a trip into city, I pointed to this (because of the bling bling mirror box).

The EFTPOST machine read AUD63. I didn’t know my make-up costs so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky I didn’t get a few more items because I totally forgot to transfer this month’s allowance into my spending account and it would be a mighty embarassing affair if my card got rejected. Zzzz.

Anyway, although I ain’t going to Perth, Sydney, Melbourne or Cairns like all my friends are, I am looking forward to the week long break here in boring St Lucia. :)

Yesterday, I was outside Nando’s waiting for a bus into Toowong. A girl ran across the intersection presumably to catch a bus into the city. It is post exam celebrations afterall. Suddenly, screeching of brakes and BANG! Girl left on the floor not moving, in the rain.

This happened just 5 metres from Chai’s. Car was headed in the direction of the school and the driver was probably Singaporean (by his bermudas and slippers).

Fire engine, ambulance, tow trucks, police and the whole lot of civil defence personnel came as curious onlookers gathered. It must be serious because the girl did not move the whole time and no body dared to approach her. All standing a safe distance away watching the show.

I don’t know why after MIA-ing for so long, I am back to blogging but about accidents. Hmm, but I can’t help but keep thinking about how fragile life is. And how we should live each day with no regrets, do what you want to do, say what you want to say. Because just a split second of poor judgement and everything ends.

Is that a proposal in the making? Hehehe.. :)

Tea was cake and “best hot choco” at Southbank’s Denim and Co. The hot choco came with shaved bits of chocolate (dark is the best) and a hot bottle of milk.

Dinner was burgers!!!

As usual, the highlight was the conversation and stupid things I accidently said. -_-”

Yesterday, after my first mid-sem paper, we met up with Jean for Wah! in the city because Cheeleng is recently very into all things Korean.

My, that was a very short update… But I am sleepy again! Probably should squeeze in a nap before I get busy with next week’s Corporate Finance paper. Sweet dreams!

I haved iPods (the nano, the shuffle and the touch) for the past 5 years? I never once saw the need to download iTunes because I have a sweet sister who always update music and stuff for me. I just need to go “mei, the songs very old, very boring..” she will give me her signature glare but she will still put in new downloads for me. No matter how busy she is.

But the other day, yet another person laughed at my lack of iTunes and so FOR THE FIRST TIME, I downloaded it. Happily I attempted to sync the iTouch to my computer! It worked!!!

Unfortunately though, the moment I did that, every thing disappeared from my stupid mp3 player. -_-”

Gahhh! So fucked.

Felt so miserable last night because the boyfriend had a long day, called me at around midnight and the first thing he said was, “Joy Joy I need some love”. You can’t help feeling a little helpless when all you want to do is run over and give him a tight hug but you just can’t.

Last semester when I was here, I got lonely. And one day led to another day and another another day. I had a little fling. Hmm, probably not so little. But it made life (at that moment) happier. It made me happier.

This is probably going to sound very sexist. But there is some type of company, the praises, the attention, the sweet nothings, that impacts more if said by a member of the opposite sex.

Something as mundane as “I think your hair is pretty like that” when said by a girl, you gush about your latest hairstylist and then start debating about curls versus rebonded tresses. However, the same sentence, “I think your hair is pretty like that” when said by a boy, you blush. I said, “I don’t eat sweet talk” but truth is, I was flying inside.

Then I started to fall for this fling. I fell so fast the only way to pull the brakes before I hit the ground hurting, was to ran away. Back to Singapore. Back to what was familiar, what was comforting, what was safe.

I got into a relationship.

It was lovely. But I cannot hide forever. I returned here and I saw said fling. The quicken heartbeats and nervousness returned. I started questioning my relationship. Suspecting his intentions. Finding fault to tell myself a habit is not love.

But fling has moved on. He probably didn’t fall like I did. Or maybe what we shared was something temporal for both him and me. A little comfort when days here seem to drag forever. Then I made a mistake. I let the secret out.

So the time came for make it or break it.

I told the boyfriend. No doubt it must have hurt. Although I did not cheat – we were not together at that point in time – we were talking daily like we have been for years. To some extent, its betrayal still?

I was prepared to lose him. To let the whole castle we have been building crumble before my eyes. Metaphorically speaking. I cried in the shower before he called just so I sound composed. Actions have consequences I had to accept that.

But he says we will press on. He says he loves me. He says he forgives.

He did not even insist for fling’s name! That to me is maturity. Trusting I want to let go of this piece of past and not wanting too much detail to spoil the bigger picture.

So to everyone who says I was stupid to wait 4 years for this guy, I think I chose right. We may not last forever, I know. But today and right now, he is mine.

First stop was to collect our tickets from a little booth because the online website ran out of tickets and I sourced the tickets through a travel agency. Smarty pants Joy.

Finally, we arrived at our destination! Time check, 10am. Not too bad… :)

Was greeted with happy music and a myraid of colours on awesome looking buildings! I felt like I had literally stepped into another world. Theme Park World. :P

A short stretch of sheltered area makes up “Hollywood“. Population: Glamourous. Here we saw alot of Marilyn Monroe memorabillia and Betty Boop (which I really don’t like).

The jungle that greeted us as soon as we stepped into the hot Singapore sun was “Magadascar“!! I love cartoons~

First ride of the day, my all-time favourite, very cute and very very safe, Merry-go-round!

Next we walked into a futuristic world of “Sci-Fi City” where it houses the highlight of USS, the world’s first duelling roller-coasters, Battlestar Galactica which was closed. :( but because it was closed (has been for a long long time) we got $20 worth of F&B/Shopping vouchers. So that was the silver lining.

Other than this ride, Sci-fi zone was disappointingly empty.

As if the sun was not bright enough, “Ancient Egypt” with its sandy hues up the temperatures quite abit. The hugeeee statues of mummies and whatevernots was very impressive. Even the fake sand walls had old inscriptions on them.

I am so short!!!!!!

Here we rode on my favourite ride throughout the amusement park. The Revenge of the Mummies!!!! It was probably the most thrilling ride in this whole park – not that it was very scary at all. The silliest ride in Universal Studios America will probably put this to shame.

Oh wells, we rode this twice anyway. Lockers are provided for you to store your belongings before this “scary” ride but its only free for the first 30 minutes. So if you want to ride twice, remember to come out and switch lockers before going in again. :)

Kiddy ride which we only took because the jeep you get to sit in looks so cute. :P

Oh oh oh, and here we arrive at my favourite place of all. PRINCESS LAND!!! Hahaha, “Far Far Away” is where Shrek lives with Princess Fiona who used to be a pretty princess turned fat ogre. :X

This is my favourite part of the park! So whimsical and frivalous. Hahaha..

We rode a dragon here! :)

The 4D show was EXACTLY the same as the one in Movieworld, Australia. With the moving seats, the ‘ticklish’ spiders and the spraying of water… Storyline, plot, even the theater was EXACTLY the same. *feels cheated*

Nice nice castle…. Would prefer Disneyland though… It feels more magical if the princess was actually pretty. Lol.

Met fellow UQ friend, Samantha and her boyfriend (Hanhui’s brother). Small small world. :)

I know I am probably gushing… But I love the castle, I love my boyfriend, I love everything that day! :D

Stopped for a water show when we got a little flustered by the heat. It did not help much because the short bursts of fireworks and the explosions created much more heat than the sun. :( but the show was funny, a definite must-see!

So we extended our break with tea time of chicken wraps. Food here is so expensive.. :(

After we got well rested, we visted “Jurassic Park: The Lost World“. I like like this place! My second favourite, cue childhood memories of USA.

Bought raincoats because when I was a kid, this ride left me totally drenched! Unfortunately though, this ride in USA had like a 25m free fall drop!?! But here, just a tiny slope. I was not wet AT ALL. Pooey~

Here we took a soaring ride to get an aerial view of the park, which is pretty small come to think of it.

Time passes fast when you are having fun.. Soon, we were at our last stop, “New York“. Bustling city with alot of lights and sounds.

We also got to sit through a category 5 major hurricane! This is how they film movies!!! And of all people, the whole stimulation was hosted by none other then Steven Spielberg himself!

The builder of this place should be applauded… No expense was spared to create the atmosphere.

Hungry hungry me got a little cranky towards this point because my boy was totally hoodwinked by bellydancing china girls at the World Cup screening at Resort World Sentosa. -__-

Explored the corridors of the 6 hotels while looking horribly underdressed. Just so I can blow aircon. Haha..

Settled for dinner at Baits which is Din Tai Fung really.

I wish that me and him will be happy. Forever and always.

Returned to USS to use up the vouchers we were given on souveniers.

Played with costumes while we waited for the fireworks finale to start!

It did… And we got best, unobstructed seats because we were kiasu Singaporeans. :P

Going home… Only then did I realise the station was a hole blown into the building! Keke.

Outside USS, a chocolate lover’s dream come true. I liked the Hershey’s Kisses beanie pillow in pink… Reese’s peanut butter cups too!

Tired us then dragged our bodies to the shuttle bus area waiting for our free ride home. Straight to Tampines!! Woots~
