Pink and White

June 17, 2009

SORRY FOR THE DELAY!!!!! There were alot of cameras to collect, sort and eliminate photos from! And at last, I discovered the benefits of Facebook. Lol.

——————————————————————————————————————————–

06/06, an auspicious day. I held the first party 100% planned and helmed by yours truely!

Everything was rushed and haphazard as the celebrations needed to be rushed out before my Daddy flies back to Middle East on the 7th. If I had a choice I would have wanted something closer to my departure date. Oh wells~

There were alot of cock-ups, many many uncertainties and the few instances where I really felt like giving up. But still, I pulled through. :) though with hitches here and there, I want to thank all who made everything possible. I love you guys! :)

Daddy for always trying to pay and slipping me money thinking that I would not notice. You are a horrible liar! LOL!
Trixie for my pretty invites and all the other fabulous ideas!!! Genius!
Cherlyn for being such an enthusiastic emcee and for solving my last minute computer problems.
Zest for being the first to volunteer to help me in the preparations and for accompanying me on all my errands.
Thiam Hee, Seng Wang, Jessica, Santoso and Darren for all the hard labour, climbing up and down, etc.
Huiyan for the ribbon idea and the many failed attempts that made me laugh so hard. Also for quitting your mickey mouse job to surprise me. :D
Jia Jin, Serene and Khang Jing for tying the lovely ribbons and sorry I am such a lousy ribbon tyer. :(
Wan Yee for postponing your birthday celebration to accomodate me.
Suting for all the effort in balloon pumping.

If I had missed anyone out, thank you for your support all the same!

My pretty invitation cards designed by Trixie dearest.

Photobucket

Collecting everyone’s addresses and printing maps was tedious but fun, Fun, FUN!

Photobucket

The night before, the clique cabbed down to my place for a slumber party!

Photobucket

We did ribbons for my guests who didn’t come in the appropriate colours (pink for the ladies and white for the gentlemen).

On the morning itself, some early birds came to help me with the decorations.

I guess the hardest part was the balloons.. 100 balloons sure is no joke!! But the boys did such a utterly brilliant job of the balloon chain it felt like a wedding! I loved it! :)

Photobucket

Printed a cut-out of a dress and tuxedo for photo-taking purpose. Hahaha. It costs a bomb but everyone seemed to like it alot so no regrets!

Photobucket

The films I ordered arrived in the nick of time!!!

Photobucket

I am sooo going to bring this guestbook over to Australia with all the faces of people who matter the most to me back home. :)

Photobucket

I got quite good feedback from some of my girls about the food so if anyone is hosting a party anytime soon, you may want to check out ISS Catering the prices go from about $10 plus to $25 per pax.

Photobucket

Thankfully I had Jessica, the Chocolate Fondue expert to help me with the machine.

Photobucket

It was sort of the hot favourite with the chocolate running out barely an hour into the party. Paiseh I didn’t prepare enough. :(

Photobucket

Game time!!! Huiyan and Jessica won the most ice-cream sticks in the memory game as well as the “guess the baby” game to win chocolates. Gerald was picked among the 7 people who knew me best to win the “how well do you know Joy” quiz.

Photobucket

The nominees for the best dressed Mr and Miss are as follows…

Mister: Daddy, Ronald and Zest
Miss: Aunty Esther, Suting and Jessica

Daddy and Aunty Esther won the most votes in the end… Congrats!
Aunty Esther to my dad: “Mine is air ticket to Italy. Yours is to Kuala Lumpur.” HAHAHA!

Photobucket

Ting feels Nicholas should have won or at least got nominated. Sorry, my overlook…

Photobucket

Although I will not turn 21 officially for a couple more months, I decided to bring forward the celebrations just in case no one remembers over in Aussie. Symbolic age leh!!!

Photobucket

I wish for world peace! :P

Ting: “Why you stop wishing?”
Me: “I wish finish le…”
Ting: “Here got alot of cameras taking photos.. You keep wishing till we tell you to stop!”

LOL! My bimbotic bestie… You really leave me in stitches sometimes. :)

Moving on, group photos!!! I am going to develop them all! :)

Photobucket

Its been ages since I last saw Nicholas. Its nice to see how much we all have changed. For the better, I hope. :) Saw Geri recently but still, its nice to catch up afterall we will both be going to Brisbane and its always better to have one more familiar face in a foreign land. Sorry I couldn’t really entertain. :( I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves though…

“Anytime you need a friend
I will be here
You’ll never be alone again
So don’t you fear
Even if you’re miles away
I’m by your side”
— Mariah Carey

I promise to be here for each and everyone of you. No matter how geographically far apart we may be, we will keep in touch! MUST MUST!! And come what may, you guys know you can find shelter in me. Always. A listening ear, a crying shoulder and a helping hand. This offer stands forever plus one day! Trust me!

Photobucket

How come guys never seem to look fat in white??! Gerald seems to have gotten his gender mixed up and came in pink though… ROFL.

Photobucket

My pretty, efficient and very charming emcee, Yang Meh Meh! THANKS A MILLION BABE!! Love you mucheee!

Photobucket

Packing up… Had to camwhore a little with the pretty metallic balloons. They seriously didn’t look so much whilst hanging in a chain.

Photobucket

When the signal was given to destroy the balloons, the guysboys eagerly sprang to action stomping away and having so much fun while we girls ran out of the room covering our ears. Haha!

After the mess was settled at about 8pm – with macho Richard and Seng Wang making repeated trips to carry the heavy loads (thanks!), we headed off to Safra Tampines after the last of my guests left for the night.

Photobucket

The lazy bums stayed upstairs while Zest and I checked out the new Minds Cafe.

Photobucket

Wahhhhh!

That rounds up a very eventful and memorable day. Much loves to all who played a part in it! <3

For all the hand-drawn and hand-made cards, notebooks, photo frames, etc, they looked uber lovely! Meng’s and Loti’s first-time card as well as Ting’s 6 page long letter left me a little teary. Sighss.

Photobucket

I didn’t know eye shadow could smell so good! Thanks Nick and Geri. :) One of the best highlights of stuff I received is the lovingly prepared scrapbook by Serene and Wan Yee. Gosh!!!!!!!!! Adore it loads!

Photobucket

Cute, detailed origami of each of us and the messages are so so so so so meaningful! Huiyan even had metal braces! Heee.

Mama got me a limited edition Forever Friends bear named, Our Little Princess. Awww! My baby brother even got me a blanket which he “forced” me to bring to Australia.

Photobucket

Thank you all! For gifts big and small, its really the thought that counts and I appreciate it all. :)

Photobucket

Many many pink stuff…. Am I so predictable?? :P mega huge thank you to Jessica for choosing the Victoria Secret stuff and the sexy nightie. Ask me nicely and maybe I will show you. *winks*

Photobucket

A dozen long stemmed roses with white phoenix and ferns from Zest. Unique choice of matching that looked super classy in my glass vase. Even the mother says it was a good choice! There was also a free lucky grasshopper inside! Ahahaha!

Why must all pretty things die??? :( although I did try to preserve a single stalk of it, dried, it just isn’t the same anymore. *sulks*

Photobucket

Needless to say, Mama who knows me best in the whole wide world got me a bouquet too!!! Hahaha… I dont really care that they are expensive and don’t last. I just like to smell them, look at them and receive them. Sounds stupid really but when you love something, there isn’t exactly any sense or rationale, no?

The party was a success and the memory will last for as long as I live. I hope all who attended had as much a blast as I did. Thank you once again for the taking the time out to pop by. You have no idea how much it means to me! :)

THE END! :D
