Alot of old old celebrations photos below the cut. :)

On the first day of April, housemate Leng turned 21!!! And it no April Fool’s joke!

We celebrated the day before with dinner in the city, Jo Jo’s at the birthday girl’s request. The place was so cool, both indoor and outdoor had it own charm. Inside, was brightly lit with alot of colours and mirrors replica of the 1970s disco/retro era. Outdoors with its wrought iron railings, you could just watch the world go by below you in old school style.

The restaurant functions like Marche in Singapore. Where you order at the individual stores, only they deliver the food to you when its done. :)

Us waiting with hungry tummies!

The food was good though slightly towards the pricey. My sand crab pasta costs AUD28 and it was only shreadded bits of crab. My face instantly fell when I saw it and that made me the butt of jokes that night. :(

Even the journey to the toilet kept us entertained….

Photobucket

Outside the toilet, paparazzi lay in wait to photograph us with our “scandals”.. Keke!

Photobucket

Inside the toilet was vintage glam, no less. Each toilet cubicle had Audrey Hepburn staring down at you with her coy lashies and a statement phrase.

Shiqi and I went trigger happy around the restaurant while the other boring friends of ours sat around chatting. Haha.

We were stuck in the middle of Queens Street because it was raining and only the tiny middle portion was sheltered.

Photobucket

Welcome to the Brisbane City. A far cry from the multitude of shopping centres along the Orchard Road belt but nice in its own way.

Photobucket

We hid from the rain for a long time…

Making fun of Alvin. LOL. He just so so so reminds me of Darren lah! *jie mei*

Finally had to come home despite the rain because it was getting late and I got sleepy… Hey, I woke up so early that morning to bake a cake for Cheeleng because we couldn’t buy one due to budget constraints.

Photobucket

Didn’t even have an electric beater so had to stir the mixture for a good 30 minutes by hand! Sleeping beauty slept through it all…

Photobucket

Burnt a finger and chalked up huge phone bills in the process of planning the midnight surprise. Had to sneak people who had pretended to go home after dinner through the window in my room. And hide them there till the clock struck 12.

Photobucket

Hahaha unglam max!!! But she was mighty surprised by the home-made cakes and the digital photoframe present we got which we filled with photos.

Photobucket

She was so touched she brought me breakfast the next morning when she went to pick her visting boyfriend from Perth.

Towards the end of the month, the youngest among us turned 21.

Nights spent in the very dim living room (when a lightbulb blows, they like to blow together!) Argh!

Decorating our massive card-cum-book for Huiping.

As her birthday fell during the mid-semester exam period, we had a grand belated celebration.

Photobucket

At a floating restaurant, Oxley Drift…… There were private yatches docked just beside us and the owners just stepped off their boats and onto the restaurant platform. Really high-class to even provide boat parking lah!

Photobucket

Food was so so so filling I found it quite worth the prices. May bring my folks here when they visit in a few months. :)

We ordered the 2 course set meal and like good kids, we skipped the champagne and had soda instead.

Photobucket

The service staff was awesome too! They could remember who ordered what and were handsome to boot! :P

Photobucket

We are happy, contented girls. :)

Huiping with her big big photo card. :) we then made the huge mistake of attempting to walk to the city. Urgh!!! Its so farrrrr….

Which made me a little late in meeting Geri for tea at Shingles Inn and some shoe shopping.

Oooh, this cafe is a Tudor inn style restaurant and one of the oldest continuing restaurants in the city of Brisbane. No wonder the ambience reminds me of old movies where rich heiress in their long poofy corsets and dresses sit down for têteà-tête.

Nice hor?? So grand and luxurious looking….

Well, that rounds up my wallet-hurting April month. Got to go burst my brain bank on tomorrow’s Econometrics paper.  :X
